In this first part of my Desert Diaries series I will feature one of Dubai's many tourist attraction, the Ski Dubai. Located inside the Mall Of the Emirates, the Ski Dubai is the first ski resort in the middle east and the biggest snow park on the world.
Ski Dubai offers different activities, I dont know how to ride ski or snowboard so I decided to purchase a snowpark pass for AED 150 (for child AED 125). Snow park pass allows me to enter and roam around the park and try some of it's rides like the toboggan and the giant snow ball. They will provide the jackets, boots and helmets for kids 13 years old and below.
For those who wants to learn riding ski or snow board, they have a ski school that provides training for all ages with the help of their professional instructors.
The main attraction of Ski Dubai is the 400 meters snow slope where only the experienced persons are allowed to get in, so if you dont know how to ride ski or snowboard, I suggest that take the lessons first, accidents may happen, so be cautious.
Inside the snowpark they have coffee shops that offers hot drinks for everyone. The Snow Bullet Cafe near the bottom of the slope, Avalanche Cafe at the top p of the slope with overlooking view of the park, and the St. Moritz Cafe near the lobby of the park.

It's my first time to be in the environment covered with snow and luckily for me, it's also my first time to meet a penguin.
They have a attraction called Snow Penguin, where people can interact with the penguins. It's a very educational experience that Ski Dubai offers. They educate the visitors about the different type of penguins and also they promote awareness about the climate change and encourage people to recycle.
Some tips for everyone who wants to visit Ski Dubai soon:
1. Make sure that you wear a gloves inside. It's negative 4 degrees inside it can cause severe numbness in your hand and maybe a serious medical problem if it's worst.
2. Don't run in the snow park. The snow is very slippery and will cause a painful fall.
3. Please, bring the right gadgets if you want to take photos around the park. I saw a lot of people with their DSLR and iPhones in the negative 4 degrees environment, Condensation will build up when they go outside the park and this will cause malfunctions to your beloved gadgets. Bring a rugged camera for this environment which is freeze proof and waterproof.
4. Have fun and enjoy your experience.
